It is thought that more women than men develop MS, and it is most likely to occur between the ages of 15 and 40. There is currently no cure for the disease, but there are a number of treatments that can help to prevent the symptoms from progressing. Some of the most common symptoms that are experienced by those with MS can include:

Numbness – this can appear in the extremities and, in particular, the arms and legs. The feelings can range from tingling through to full numbness. It is, however, not a symptom that is experienced by every person that develops MS.

Cognitive Function Decline – this can range in issues from memory loss and an inability to focus through to disorganisation and a reduction in attention span. In some cases, this cognitive decline can flare up to the point where it is difficult for the individual to carry out everyday functions.

Vision issues – inflammation that can be caused by MS can lead to issues with the optic nerve, and this can result in blurred vision as well as eye pain, double vision and even colour blindness. Vision problems can occur over longer periods of time and are not a common initial symptom.
